Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect when you use Deposit Guide, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Deposit Guide is an independent digital publisher of self-help legal information. We publish downloadable guides about landlord–tenant security deposit disputes in the United States.

All payments are processed by Creem, our merchant of record. Creem is the seller of record for every purchase and handles payment processing, invoicing and applicable taxes.

2. Information you give us

  • Email address — used to deliver your purchase receipt and to contact you about your order.
  • Your answers to the questionnaire — for example your state, the type of dispute and the amount in dispute. These answers are used to select and assemble the guide you asked for.

We do not ask for your name, postal address, Social Security number, bank details, or any other government identifier. Please do not send us documents such as your lease or bank statements — we do not need them to produce your guide.

3. Payment information

We never see or store your card details. Payments are collected by Creem, our merchant of record, which processes the transaction as the seller of record and handles invoicing and applicable taxes. Creem receives your payment details directly and is responsible for their security. Creem may share limited order information with us, such as your email address, order status and the amount paid, so that we can deliver your guide and support you afterwards.

4. Where your information is stored

Your questionnaire answers and the generated guide are processed in your own browser and may be stored locally in your browser’s local storage so you can return to your guide. That local copy stays on your device and is removed when you clear your browser data.

Our website is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP address, user agent and timestamps for security and reliability purposes.

5. Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your personal information. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate measurements of page visits to understand which parts of the site are useful. Our payment provider may set its own cookies when you are on a checkout page; those are governed by Creem’s own policies.

6. How we use your information

  • To generate and deliver the guide you requested.
  • To send receipts, order confirmations and support replies.
  • To process refunds and handle disputes.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the service — principally Creem (payments, receipts, refunds) and Cloudflare (hosting and delivery) — or where we are legally required to do so.

8. Retention

Order and receipt records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Support correspondence is kept while your request is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To make a request, email support@get-book.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited information we hold, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Deposit Guide is intended for adults dealing with their own tenancy matters. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. International transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
